The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken disciplinary action against seven of its officers after finding them guilty of corruption, misuse of authority, and professional negligence. The decision was approved by FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar following departmental inquiries.

According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, the punishments ranged from dismissal from service to demotion and temporary bans on promotions. The action reflects what the FIA leadership described as a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the organisation.
Three officials — Inspector Fakhar Abbas, Constable Ghulam Mustafa, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ahsan Miskeen — were dismissed from service. Inspector Abbas and Constable Mustafa were found to have conducted an illegal raid and were involved in extortion, while ASI Miskeen was accused of taking money from a passenger at Sialkot Airport.
In separate cases, Inspector Fahad Iqbal was penalised with a two-year ban on promotion for granting illegal immigration clearance at Islamabad Airport. The inquiry concluded that his actions violated immigration rules and compromised institutional integrity.
Sub-Inspector Kiran Fareed was also handed a one-year promotion ban for similar misconduct related to illegal immigration clearance. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Tanzil Rasool was demoted to the rank of ASI after being found guilty of facilitating unlawful immigration processes at Karachi Airport.
Another officer, Sub-Inspector Wasim Ubaid, received a two-year promotion ban for assisting illegal immigration clearance at Sialkot Airport. Investigators determined that his negligence and misuse of authority enabled unlawful activity.
DG FIA Riffat Mukhtar said the organisation was committed to enforcing accountability at all levels. He emphasised that corruption, negligence, and abuse of power would not be tolerated, adding that such actions damage public trust and undermine law enforcement credibility.

He further stated that the FIA would continue to strengthen internal oversight mechanisms to ensure strict adherence to legal and professional standards. The disciplinary measures, he said, were meant to serve as a warning and reinforce a culture of integrity within the agency.
