Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Friday demanded a retina specialist examine Imran Khan. The demand followed the government’s confirmation of his eye procedure at PIMS. PTI said the medical process lacked transparency and proper care.
Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Imran was in good health. He confirmed a successful eye procedure at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. He added that an eye specialist first examined Imran inside Adiala jail. Later, doctors shifted him to PIMS for minor treatment.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi raised serious concerns. He said PIMS does not have a retina specialist. He questioned why neither Imran’s family nor personal doctor was informed. He also criticized delays in confirming the medical procedure.
Similarly, senior PTI leader Salman Akram Raja accused the government of secrecy. He said Imran’s fundamental rights were violated during the process. He claimed meetings were denied despite court orders. He added that Imran’s personal physician and a retina expert were stopped from meeting him.

Finally, PTI stressed the need for an independent retina examination. Salman Raja said the Supreme Court registrar and attorney general assured cooperation. He expressed hope that authorities would allow a retina specialist soon.
