Pakistan has secured two prestigious honours at the Islamic Finance News (IFN) Deals of the Year Awards 2025: IFN Pakistan Deal of the Year 2025 and IFN Syndicated Finance Deal of the Year 2025. The recognition comes after the successful US$1 billion syndicated Islamic financing, marking a major milestone in the country’s Shariah-compliant financing capabilities.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said the awards reflect global confidence in Pakistan’s economic management and ability to structure innovative Islamic finance solutions under challenging market conditions. He described the achievement as an endorsement of the government’s efforts to diversify funding sources, strengthen external buffers, and expand Pakistan’s footprint in global Islamic capital markets.

Aurangzeb noted that the US$1 billion syndicated financing demonstrates Pakistan’s renewed credibility and disciplined macroeconomic management. He specifically praised the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for its support, along with participating banks, legal advisers, and stakeholders whose coordination ensured the deal’s successful closure.
The minister emphasized that these accolades strengthen Pakistan’s domestic Islamic finance ecosystem and reinforce investor confidence in Shariah-compliant instruments. IFN Deals of the Year Awards are highly respected in the Islamic finance sector, recognising landmark transactions based on innovation, structuring, and market impact.
