Pakistan advises citizens to limit Iran travel

Published on: February 28, 2026 1:30 PM

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran due to rising security concerns. The advisory affects Pakistani travelers and residents in Iran, urging them to remain vigilant and maintain close contact with local Pakistani missions. The guidance aims to protect citizens and ensure immediate access to diplomatic assistance during emergencies or unforeseen developments.

Officials instructed Pakistanis in Iran to exercise caution, limit unnecessary movement, and stay in constant communication with diplomatic missions. The ministry released emergency contact numbers for the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran to assist citizens during urgent situations. Consular numbers were also provided for Pakistani nationals in Zahedan and Mashhad, ensuring timely support and guidance when needed.

The advisory follows heightened regional instability and ongoing security challenges in Iran that could affect foreign nationals and travelers. Authorities emphasized that Pakistani missions remain fully operational to provide assistance and respond promptly to emergencies. Citizens were urged to monitor local developments carefully and follow official instructions to maintain personal safety.

Ministry officials highlighted that regular communication with diplomatic missions is critical for immediate guidance and support. Travelers were advised to avoid high-risk areas and restrict movement to essential activities only. The advisory reflects Pakistan’s proactive measures to safeguard its citizens abroad amid volatile situations in the region.

Officials stressed that Pakistani diplomatic missions are available 24/7 to provide assistance, guidance, and emergency coordination. Citizens were encouraged to keep embassy and consular numbers readily accessible and report any suspicious or threatening activity. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue monitoring the situation and issue updated guidance as necessary to protect Pakistani nationals.
