PIA stops flights after Iran strikes by US, Israel

Published on: February 28, 2026 10:30 PM

The Pakistan International Airlines has suspended flights to several Gulf countries due to escalating Middle East tensions following US and Israeli strikes on Iran. Flights to the UAE, Bahrain, Doha, and Kuwait will not operate until airspace is restored or tomorrow evening, whichever comes later.

PIA confirmed that flights to Saudi Arabia will continue but will follow alternate routes. The national carrier has deployed Boeing 777 aircraft on these routes to accommodate the changes safely.

This move reflects ongoing disruptions to civilian air travel due to military operations in Iran and retaliatory actions across the Gulf. Regional airspace closures and security concerns have forced airlines to adjust routes for safety.
