Israeli fire breaches Gaza truce again, kills four

Published on: April 17, 2026 8:50 PM

Israeli fire breached the Gaza truce again, killing four Palestinians in multiple incidents. The attacks occurred across northern, central, and southern Gaza. The development is significant as it highlights continuing violations of the ceasefire and rising civilian casualties.

Medical sources said two brothers were killed in a drone strike in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. The victims were identified as Abdelmalek and Abdel Sattar al-Attar. Moreover, witnesses reported the strike hit an area outside the designated ceasefire zone.

In Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighbourhood, nine-year-old Saleh Badawi was killed when Israeli forces opened fire. Several others were injured in the same incident. Additionally, another Palestinian was killed in southern Gaza near Khan Younis.

The Israeli military said it targeted individuals crossing the so-called “yellow line” during operations. It claimed the individuals posed an immediate threat to its forces. However, local sources and witnesses disputed the military’s account of the incidents.

Since the ceasefire began in October 2025, hundreds of Palestinians have reportedly been killed in similar violations. Health authorities say near-daily attacks have continued across the enclave. However, the truce remains formally in place despite ongoing violence.
