Shan Masood will continue to lead the Test side, reaffirming the board’s confidence in his leadership. The selection committee has included a mix of experienced campaigners and fresh talent, aiming to strike a balance between stability and future development.

According to officials, five players from the squad are currently participating in a red-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The full squad is scheduled to assemble in Karachi on April 27 to begin final preparations. Players involved in the ongoing Pakistan Super League will join the camp after completing their domestic commitments.

The training camp will conclude on May 1, after which the national side will depart for Bangladesh on May 2. The tour is seen as an important assignment for Pakistan as it looks to build momentum in the longer format of the game.

In a notable development, former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as head coach for the tour. He will be assisted by former internationals Asad Shafiq as batting coach and Umar Gul as bowling coach.

The squad includes prominent names such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Imam-ul-Haq, alongside emerging players who have earned their call-ups through strong domestic performances.

Selectors believe the inclusion of new faces will provide depth and competition within the squad. The upcoming series is expected to test Pakistan’s bench strength and adaptability in subcontinental conditions as they face a competitive Bangladeshi side on home soil.
