Iqbal Day to be celebrated at Alhamra

Published on: April 22, 2026 11:44 AM

The Lahore Arts Council, Alhamra, in collaboration with the Allama Iqbal Council, will host “Taqreeb-e-Bayaad-e-Iqbal” on April 23 at 3:00 PM in Alhamra Hall No.1.

Alhamra and the Allama Iqbal Council have consistently hosted Iqbal Day ceremonies for the past three years, creating a meaningful platform to revisit and reflect on the philosophy and vision of the Poet of the East, Allama Iqbal. These gatherings bring together distinguished scholars, intellectuals, and Iqbal experts who engage audiences, especially students, with the timeless message of self-realization and national awakening in Iqbal’s philosophy. The initiative continues to nurture a deeper understanding of cultural and intellectual identity among the younger generation.

Last year’s ceremony featured prominent speakers, including Mujib-ur-Rehman Shami, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Vice Chancellor GC University Dr. Umar, and Waleed Iqbal, who shared profound insights into Iqbal’s enduring relevance in contemporary times.

Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, in his statement, said, “Iqbal’s message is not confined to poetry; it is a living philosophy that calls for self-discovery, courage, and purposeful existence. At Alhamra, we consider it our responsibility to keep this intellectual legacy alive by creating platforms where the youth can connect with Iqbal’s vision and find direction for their future. Such engagements are not merely events, but a revival of thought, identity, and national consciousness.”

Chairman Allama Iqbal Council Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema also expressed his views, stating, “The thought of Allama Iqbal is the very soul of our national identity. When young minds engage with his message, they awaken to their true potential and their responsibility towards the nation. Our mission is to ensure that Iqbal’s teachings are not only remembered but lived, guiding society towards wisdom, unity and moral strength.”

Through these events, Alhamra and the Allama Iqbal Council continue to strengthen the intellectual and cultural fabric of society, ensuring Allama Iqbal’s message resonates across generations and remains a source of inspiration for a progressive, enlightened Pakistan.
