Meghan marks anniversary with rare tribute featuring King Charles

Published on: May 19, 2026 3:00 PM

Meghan Markle marked her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince Harry by sharing a collection of previously unseen wedding photos, including a rare image featuring King Charles III.

On May 19, the Duchess of Sussex posted a series of personal images from the couple’s 2018 wedding celebrations, reflecting on their journey together since their royal wedding.

Among the photographs was a black-and-white image showing King Charles alongside Harry and Meghan before the wedding ceremony. The image drew attention as it marked the first known time Meghan has featured the British monarch on her social media since returning to public platforms in 2025.

Observers noted the inclusion as a subtle but notable gesture, given the widely reported tensions between the Sussexes and senior members of the British royal family in recent years.

The shared anniversary collection also included photos from the wedding reception, with Harry and Meghan seen dancing, celebrating and interacting with guests during the private event.

The post offered followers a more personal look at the couple’s wedding memories and family milestones.

Last year, Meghan similarly marked the couple’s anniversary by posting a visual tribute featuring highlights from their seven-year journey together.

In that message, she thanked supporters for their continued encouragement, writing about the couple’s “lifetime of stories” and expressing appreciation to those who had followed their relationship over the years.

Harry and Meghan married in May 2018 in a globally watched royal ceremony at St George’s Chapel, drawing international attention.

Their relationship and subsequent departure from senior royal duties in 2020 have remained subjects of global media interest.

The latest anniversary post has generated attention online, particularly due to the unexpected inclusion of King Charles in the tribute.
