
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan-China relations continue to grow in strength, substance and strategic significance, as both countries mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

In his message on the historic occasion, the prime minister said the relationship between Pakistan and China, established on 21 May 1951, has evolved into an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” based on mutual trust, sovereign equality and shared aspirations for peace and development.

He said the long-standing friendship between the two countries is deeply valued by the people of Pakistan, adding that both sides have consistently supported each other on matters of core national interest. He also expressed appreciation for the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, highlighting China’s achievements in economic development, innovation, poverty alleviation and global connectivity.
Shehbaz Sharif said China’s progress continues to serve as an inspiration for developing countries and contributes to global peace and prosperity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy and its support for China’s core interests.
The prime minister particularly praised the role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), calling it a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative. He said CPEC has significantly contributed to Pakistan’s infrastructure development, energy security, industrial cooperation and regional connectivity.
He added that Pakistan remains committed to advancing CPEC into its next phase, with a stronger focus on industrialisation, agriculture, information technology, science and technology, green development and people-centred cooperation.
The prime minister also noted expanding cooperation between the two countries in areas such as the digital economy, space technology, education and cultural exchange.

Shehbaz Sharif said the partnership demonstrates how enduring strategic trust can be transformed into shared prosperity. He added that at a time of global uncertainty, Pakistan and China continue to promote multilateralism, peaceful coexistence and inclusive development.
He expressed hope that the friendship between the two countries would grow stronger for future generations.
