He said the long-standing friendship between the two countries is deeply valued by the people of Pakistan, adding that both sides have consistently supported each other on matters of core national interest. He also expressed appreciation for the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, highlighting China’s achievements in economic development, innovation, poverty alleviation and global connectivity.

Shehbaz Sharif said China’s progress continues to serve as an inspiration for developing countries and contributes to global peace and prosperity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy and its support for China’s core interests.

The prime minister particularly praised the role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), calling it a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative.
