Authorities in Italy cancelled two major summer concerts featuring Kanye West and Travis Scott in Reggio Emilia, citing serious security concerns and rising public tensions. The decision disrupted planned performances scheduled for July and raised questions about large-scale event safety in the region.
Officials confirmed that West was set to headline the Hellwat Festival on July 18, while Travis Scott was scheduled to perform at the same venue on July 17. The RCF Arena, which hosts over 100,000 spectators, was expected to accommodate massive crowds across both nights.

Furthermore, local authorities said they intervened due to growing security risks linked to public backlash and potential protests. Community groups and political organisations had previously expressed concern over West’s controversial public statements, increasing pressure on event organisers.
In addition, officials highlighted logistical challenges of hosting two major concerts within 24 hours at a single venue. They warned that crowd control issues, emergency response limitations, and possible disturbances created an unacceptable safety risk for both performers and attendees.

Meanwhile, organisers announced they are exploring alternative locations for Kanye West’s July 18 performance outside Reggio Emilia. However, no replacement venue has been confirmed yet, leaving uncertainty around the continuation of the planned tour schedule.
Despite the cancellations in Italy, West has already launched his summer tour with a large concert in Istanbul, reportedly attracting more than 100,000 fans. However, ongoing controversies surrounding both artists continue to impact planning and raise concerns across their remaining European tour dates.
