Gold prices witness sharp decline

The prices of gold registered a significant decline in the local market on Saturday, with 24 karat gold per tola falling sharply by Rs 12,489 to settle at Rs 455,327 compared to Rs 467,816 on the previous trading day, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 11,240 to Rs 389,772 from Rs 401,012, whereas 10 grams of 22 karat gold went down by Rs 10,181 to Rs 357,443 against Rs 367,624. In the international market, the price of gold decreased by $124.890 to $4,328.920 per ounce from $4,453.810. Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola decreased by Rs 463 to Rs 7,267 from Rs 7,730, while the price of 10 grams of silver declined by Rs 421 to Rs 6,202 from Rs 6,623. The price of silver in the international market also decreased by $4.635 to $67.885 per ounce from $72.520.
