27 terrorists killed in North Waziristan IBOs: ISPR

In a continuation of a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the general area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan, security forces have killed 27 khwarij belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al Khwarij during the last 72 hours.

“Following intense fierce exchanges of fire, in last seventy two hours, twenty seven khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij have been sent to hell, ” said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed Indian sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities and target killing of innocent civilians.

“By neutralising this group of killed Khwarij the heinous act of target killing of prominent figure Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miran Shah has been avenged and perpetrators have been brought to justice,’ the news release said.

“Sanitization operations continue to eliminate holed up khwarij from these areas, as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it further said.

Missing cop found dead in Hangu

A missing police official was found dead in Karbogha Sharif area within the limits of Doaba in Hangu district on Sunday.

According to police, the deceased identified as Sher Nawaz was an officer of the Orakzai Police, who had been missing since June 1.

SHO Niaz Khattak stated that the cop was deployed at a police checkpoint in Buland Khel. Following his disappearance, police had launched search operations to locate him.

After the body was recovered, it was taken into police custody and shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident saying that the post-mortem report and preliminary evidence will help determine whether the case involves murder or another type of incident.

The discovery of the cop’s body has raised security concerns in the area and senior officials have ordered a full inquiry into the matter.

Meanwhile; President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime minister Shehbaz sharif paid tribute to security forces for successful operations against Fitna al Khawarij in North Waziristan.

The President appreciated the professional capabilities of the security forces for eliminating 27 Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the last 72 hours.

“Successful operation against the killers of Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar is a significant step forward in the ongoing national struggle against terrorism,” he said adding, “The nation stands by its brave security forces and is determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.”
