The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has clarified that it will not boycott the federal budget session. However, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will not attend the proceedings. The statement comes amid speculation about PPP’s participation in the budget process.
According to the PPP media cell, some party lawmakers will attend the budget session in parliament. The party confirmed that it remains part of the budget process in line with national interest. Moreover, PPP officials rejected reports suggesting a formal boycott decision.
PPP Central Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan also dismissed claims of a boycott. He said such reports were incorrect and misleading. In addition, party leadership reiterated its commitment to parliamentary engagement. Therefore, the party continues its legislative participation.
Meanwhile, political activity was seen in parliament as Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s chamber. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar also accompanied him during the meeting. The visit indicated ongoing political consultations ahead of budget discussions.
Overall, the situation highlights differing levels of participation within PPP during the budget session. While leadership remains absent, selected members will engage in proceedings. Consequently, attention remains on the party’s stance during key parliamentary debates.
