Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi met Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov in Grozny on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation. The talks matter because they signal expanding diplomatic and cultural engagement between Pakistan and Chechnya. Students, cultural institutions, and humanitarian organizations in both sides could benefit from the proposed cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to expand collaboration in education, cultural exchanges, humanitarian work, and institutional links. Officials discussed practical steps to deepen people-to-people contacts and encourage broader engagement between the two Muslim societies. The discussions reflected a shared interest in turning existing goodwill into structured cooperation.
Ambassador Tirmizi said Pakistan and Chechnya share strong similarities in religious values, traditions, and social structures. He noted that hearing the call to prayer in Chechnya gave him a sense of being at home in Pakistan. According to the envoy, this spiritual and cultural closeness provides a strong foundation for stronger bilateral ties.
Kadyrov described relations with Pakistan as positive and friendly, calling Pakistan an important Muslim country. He said Chechnya is particularly interested in expanding educational and cultural links with Pakistan. The Chechen leader also conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan and emphasized the need for closer relations.
During the visit, Ambassador Tirmizi also paid respects at the grave of Akhmad-Haji Kadyrov, the first president of the Chechen Republic and a Hero of Russia. He offered prayers and paid tribute to the late leader’s political role and public service. Observers say the visit highlights growing diplomatic and cultural ties between Pakistan and the Chechen Republic, with expectations of greater cooperation in the future.
