The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several districts of Balochistan, although most parts of the province are expected to remain hot and dry during the coming days. Weather experts said changing atmospheric conditions could bring scattered showers to selected areas while intense heat continues to dominate many inland regions.
According to the forecast, rain is likely in Kalat, Jhal Magsi, Jafarabad, Loralai, Sohbatpur, Naseerabad, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Khuzdar and Dera Bugti. As a result, residents in these districts may experience brief relief from high temperatures despite the prevailing dry weather pattern across much of the province.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are expected in Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat and Kohlu. Officials have advised residents to remain cautious, as unstable weather conditions could lead to sudden changes in visibility and travel conditions. Northern and central parts of Balochistan are likely to witness the strongest weather activity during this period.
Temperature readings continue to highlight the sharp contrast between cooler highland districts and hotter plains. Quetta recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, while Kalat reported 30 degrees Celsius. Ziarat remained one of the coolest locations at 23 degrees Celsius, whereas Zhob registered a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, several southern and western districts continued to experience intense heat. Sibi remained among the hottest locations with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius, followed by Turbat at 43 degrees Celsius and Nokundi at 41 degrees Celsius. Chaman recorded a comparatively lower maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius despite the widespread heat across the province.
In contrast, coastal areas maintained relatively moderate weather conditions due to the influence of sea breezes. Gwadar recorded a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, while Jiwani reported 34 degrees Celsius. The latest forecast suggests that inland districts will continue to face extreme heat, while scattered rain and thunderstorms may bring temporary relief to selected regions.
