Severe heat expected across central Balochistan

Published on: June 25, 2026 4:42 PM

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intense heat across central districts of Balochistan, while predicting rainfall in several parts of the province. The weather outlook indicates continued hot and dry conditions in most areas, with isolated showers expected in a few districts. The forecast is important for residents, farmers, and local authorities preparing for extreme weather conditions.

According to the Met Office, Quetta and surrounding areas are expected to remain dry with clear skies throughout the day. Most districts of Balochistan are likely to experience hot and dry weather, while central regions may face particularly severe temperatures.

The department said coastal areas of the province could witness partly cloudy conditions. However, no significant weather system is expected to affect major coastal regions, and temperatures are likely to remain above seasonal averages.

Forecasters predicted rain at isolated locations in Sherani, Musa Khel, Kohlu, Barkhan, and Khuzdar. These showers may provide temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave affecting several districts across the province.

Meanwhile, Sibi remained one of the hottest areas in the country, with the maximum temperature reaching 47 degrees Celsius on the previous day. Authorities have advised residents to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary exposure to extreme heat during peak daytime hours.
