The Sindh government has decided to convert its “I Work for Sindh” pilot employment initiative into a permanent government programme. The move matters because it aims to expand job opportunities and improve digital employment services for young people. Job seekers, employers, and public institutions across Sindh are expected to benefit.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Information Department chaired by Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials agreed on a comprehensive strategy to make the platform more effective, integrated, and technologically advanced. The government said the programme has become an important digital platform connecting employers with job seekers across the province.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said more than 4.8 million people have visited the platform so far. He added that over 113,000 job seekers have registered, while 670 companies have joined the portal. According to the minister, 11,100 vacancies are currently active, and 20,800 jobs have been posted since the platform’s launch.
The minister said the portal has received more than 419,000 job applications. He noted that users can also create professional CVs through an automated feature. In addition, the platform now offers a “Learn and Earn” feature, allowing young people to develop skills while accessing employment opportunities.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said the government will soon introduce live career counselling sessions with industry experts. He stressed that all relevant departments must work together to ensure the programme’s long-term success. The minister also said the Information Department would continue improving communication between the government and the public through modern digital services.
