Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in counterterrorism, internal security and law enforcement during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chinese Minister of State for Public Security and head of the Special Service Bureau Ling Zhifeng at the United Nations Headquarters.

According to an official statement, the two sides held detailed discussions on bilateral security cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the Pakistan-China strategic partnership. The meeting also focused on enhancing collaboration in border management, combating illegal immigration and strengthening efforts against drug trafficking.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed the need for coordinated international action to curb the financing of terrorism. He said countries involved in supporting or funding terrorist groups should be addressed through a joint strategy, adding that Pakistan is keen to further expand its security cooperation with China.
Naqvi also highlighted the security measures Pakistan has taken to protect Chinese nationals working in the country. He said a dedicated Special Protection Police Force has been established to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and safeguard projects carried out under bilateral cooperation.
The interior minister further emphasized the importance of promoting people-to-people contacts between the two countries. He said additional facilitation in the visa system would help strengthen exchanges and deepen bilateral relations.
Chinese Minister Ling Zhifeng praised Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged the country’s efforts to address security challenges. He said terrorism remains a global threat that requires close cooperation between friendly nations and reaffirmed China’s commitment to working with Pakistan in this area.
The Chinese minister also assured that visa and immigration-related matters would be reviewed to facilitate greater cooperation between the two countries.

Pakistan and China maintain close strategic relations, with security cooperation remaining a key component of their partnership.
