Pakistan Test squad continues preparations for WI tour

Published on: July 11, 2026 9:02 AM

The Pakistan Test squad’s training camp for the upcoming tour of the West Indies is underway at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

On the second day of the camp, players participated in a scenario-based two-day practice match designed to simulate match conditions. The exercise aims to help batters build long innings while allowing bowlers to work on extended spells, said a statement issued here.

The scenario-based match is also providing the national Test team’s coaching staff-Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq, and Umar Gul-with an opportunity to closely assess the players’ form, fitness, and overall skills ahead of the tour. Before the match, the players underwent fielding drills, including ground fielding, slip catching, and high-catching practice.

The Pakistan test squad is scheduled to depart from Islamabad for the West Indies on Monday, July 13.

Pakistan and the West Indies are set to face each other in a two-match ICC World Test Championship series from July 25 to August 10.

The matches will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba and the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
