Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar took serious notice of the murder of Dr. Akash Kumar and directed the police to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible. Acting promptly and professionally, the Sindh Police successfully arrested the three suspects involved in the murder within just 36 hours.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar commended the Sindh Police for the swift arrest of the suspects, stating that the successful operation reflects the force’s professionalism, prompt response, and unwavering commitment to protecting the public.
He said that the murder of Dr Akash Kumar was a deeply tragic and condemnable incident that saddened the entire nation. The Government of Sindh stands in complete solidarity with the bereaved family and is committed to ensuring that justice is served.
The Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that although the case was highly challenging, law enforcement agencies, through coordinated efforts, modern investigative techniques, and intelligence-based operations, succeeded in bringing the suspects to justice within the shortest possible time.
He disclosed that the arrested suspects have been identified as Anil, Ram Chand, and Suresh, who were apprehended during a successful operation in the Defence area. Weapons and cash were recovered from their possession, while one vehicle and two motorcycles used in the crime have also been identified.
Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar further stated that he will personally monitor the investigation of the case, while the Addl. IG Karachi is also directly supervising every stage of the investigation to ensure that all facts are brought to light and that no offender escapes the law.
The Home Minister directed the Addl. IG Karachi to further strengthen security in all upscale and sensitive areas of the city, increase police patrolling, and intensify targeted operations against criminal elements. He also announced that he would conduct surprise visits across the city at any time to personally review the law and order situation.
He emphasized that the investigation must be supported with solid evidence, a strong prosecution, and an effective challan to ensure exemplary punishment for the accused in accordance with the law. This case, he said, should serve as a deterrent to criminals and discourage anyone from endangering the lives and property of citizens.
The Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar reiterated that protecting the lives and property of the people remains the top priority of the Government of Sindh. There will be no compromise on law and order, and the provincial government is utilizing all available administrative and legal resources to safeguard citizens.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, he said that no criminal, regardless of influence or status, would be allowed to evade justice. Every attempt to undermine peace in Karachi will be thwarted, and indiscriminate action against criminal elements will continue.
He further stated that operations are ongoing to arrest additional facilitators and other suspects involved in the case. No one will be allowed to escape the law. The Government of Sindh remains committed to ensuring complete and timely justice for the victim’s family by bringing all those responsible before the law and securing appropriate punishment.
