South Air begins domestic flights from Karachi

Published on: July 16, 2026 6:00 PM

South Air has launched scheduled domestic flights from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, expanding Pakistan’s aviation network. The Pakistan Airports Authority said the new services will improve domestic connectivity. Passengers across the country are expected to benefit from better travel options.

The private regional airline has started operations on the Karachi-Turbat-Quetta and Karachi-Bahawalpur-Islamabad routes. Its inaugural flights, Z8911 to Turbat and Z8942 to Bahawalpur, departed from Karachi on Thursday morning. Initially, the airline will operate one weekly flight to Turbat and three weekly flights to Bahawalpur.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the new routes are expected to strengthen domestic air travel and improve regional accessibility. South Air also plans to expand its network by launching flights to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Gwadar. The expansion aims to connect more underserved destinations across Pakistan.

The airline is operating under the Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration licence. It has introduced modern ATR 72-600 aircraft for its domestic services. These aircraft are recognised for fuel efficiency, operational reliability, and compliance with international safety standards.
