Authorities told to modernise media monitoring system

Secretary Information Sindh Kashif Gulzar Shaikh chaired an important meeting at the Directorate of Social and Digital Media to review various measures aimed at making the Information Department’s media monitoring system more effective, comprehensive, and aligned with modern requirements.

The meeting was attended by Director Advertisements Muhammad Yousif Kabooro, Director Social and Digital Media Aziz Ahmed Hakro, Deputy Director Advertisements Sarang Latif Chandio, and other relevant officers.

During the meeting, participants reviewed a range of proposals to further strengthen the monitoring of print, electronic, digital, and social media. Discussions also focused on comprehensive media coverage monitoring, timely compilation of news, preparation of analytical reports, and enhancing the overall monitoring system through the use of modern technologies.

Secretary Information Kashif Gulzar Shaikh directed the officers to further modernize and streamline the media monitoring system in line with professional standards to ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive monitoring of the Government of Sindh’s policies, development initiatives, public welfare programmes, and media coverage.

He emphasized that an effective media monitoring mechanism plays a vital role in evaluating government performance and ensuring the timely dissemination of accurate information to the public. The meeting reaffirmed the Information Department’s commitment to continuously improving its media monitoring system by adopting modern technologies and international best practices.
