A senior Iranian military commander has warned that any further United States military action against Iran will trigger a decisive and devastating response as tensions between the two countries continue to intensify. The warning followed a fresh wave of US airstrikes ordered after an Iranian attack in Jordan killed two American service members and left another missing.

Moreover, Major General Ali Abdullahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said the country’s armed forces remained fully prepared to confront any aggression. He described Iran’s military strength as the foundation of national security and pledged to strengthen unity between the armed forces, government and the public in the face of growing external pressure.
Meanwhile, Abdullahi accused the United States of attempting to create divisions within Iranian society after what he described as repeated military setbacks. He also vowed that Iran would impose heavier costs on Washington than in previous confrontations, insisting that any future attacks would receive a stronger and more forceful response.

Furthermore, the United States confirmed it launched fresh strikes against targets near Sirik in southern Iran after President Donald Trump authorised the operation. US Central Command said the strikes aimed to weaken Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and respond to attacks on American forces in Jordan, while Iranian media reported no casualties or infrastructure damage.
The latest escalation came as CENTCOM confirmed that two American service members were killed and another remains missing following Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan, bringing total US military fatalities in the conflict to 16 with more than 420 personnel wounded. Separately, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei accused Washington of violating previous agreements and warned that continued military action would bring even greater costs and consequences for the United States.
