Facebook outage disrupts desktop access for users worldwide

Published on: July 19, 2026 5:58 PM

Facebook users across several countries experienced a temporary service disruption after many reported receiving an “Account Temporarily Unavailable” error while trying to access the platform through its desktop website. The issue appeared to affect multiple regions, prompting thousands of users to report the outage and seek updates online.

Users attempting to log in through the desktop version were shown a message stating that their accounts were temporarily unavailable because of a site issue and advising them to try again later. Meanwhile, reports of the disruption quickly increased on outage-tracking platforms and online discussion forums as more users encountered the same problem.

Several users said the issue mainly affected Facebook’s desktop website, while the mobile application continued working normally for some people. However, others reported that the outage did not impact every account, suggesting the disruption affected users differently across various regions and devices.

Meta had not immediately explained the cause of the service interruption or announced when full access would be restored. As a result, users continued sharing their experiences online while waiting for the company to resolve the technical issue and restore normal service.

Temporary outages occasionally affect major online platforms because of technical faults, server issues or maintenance work. Users are generally advised to wait for official updates, avoid repeated login attempts and check the platform again after some time as service is restored.
