The Central Traders Association of Muzaffarabad has distanced itself from a strike and shutdown call scheduled for July 22, announcing that all markets and shops in the city will remain open as usual.
Association officials said they have clearly rejected the strike call and urged traders to continue their routine business activities.
They said acting chairman of the Central Traders Association Muzaffarabad, Gohar Kashmiri, remains the traders’ agreed leader and, according to the association’s decision, all markets and shops will remain open on July 22. The association stated that only they have the authority to call for any strike or decision affecting business activities.
Association leader Ali Abbas said commercial activities in the city are continuing normally and conditions have improved significantly. He added that traders will follow the decisions of their agreed leader, Gohar Kashmiri.
Analysts said the decision is being viewed as a positive step towards maintaining business continuity and promoting a peaceful environment in the city.
