PSX posts modest gains, adds over 205 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a positive trend on Tuesday, gaining 205.83 points, a positive change of 0.12 percent, to close at 176,133.57 points against 175,927.74 points recorded on the previous trading day.

During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 1.003 billion shares with a traded value of Rs35.702 billion, compared to 675.921 million shares valuing Rs30.267 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization stood at Rs19.790 trillion, up from Rs19.763 trillion a day earlier.

Out of 494 active companies in the ready market, 268 advanced, 191 declined, and 35 remained unchanged.

Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 263.629 million shares, followed by Trust Brokerage with 111.320 million shares and TPL Properties with 73.874 million shares.

The top gainers included Khyber Textile Mills Limited, which surged by Rs91.84 to close at Rs2,163.06, and Nestle Pakistan Limited, which gained Rs72.69 to settle at Rs7,651.92.

On the losing side, PIA Holding Company LimitedB declined by Rs492.66 to close at Rs17,507.33, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs189.98 to settle at Rs25,250.02.

In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 245.295 million shares with a traded value of Rs9.808 billion, compared to 161.308 million shares worth Rs7.945 billion in the previous session. Out of 305 futures-market companies, 177 advanced, 125 declined, and 3 remained unchanged.
