Ehsan Mani vows corruption-free PCB

Published on: September 5, 2018 10:17 AM

ISLAMABAD: Newly-elected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Wednesday vowed to ensure across-the-board accountability and transparency, adding that those who have looted the board’s resources won’t be spared.

Mani was elected unopposed for a period of three years by a nine-member Board of Governors during a meeting at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Addressing his first press conference as PCB’s new chief, Mani vowed a corruption-free and transparent cricketing body. “We will introduce accountability and transparency in PCB, and to that end, I will present myself for accountability first.”

He added that details regarding PCB’s accounts will be uploaded on the official website for everyone to see, while nothing would be hidden from the media. “Media would be briefed about the policies and meetings through a properly planned mechanism.”

The PCB chief said the auditor-general raised several questions regarding financial irregularities in PCB and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), also promising to initiate a 3-year audit of the board.

“If we find traces of corruption at any stage, it won’t be spared. We will take action against all miscreants and will also try to recover stolen resources,” Mani said.
