Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner get married in Vegas

Published on: May 3, 2019 6:19 AM

Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner tied the knot in Las Vegas on Wednesday in a surprise ceremony.

The nuptials were held at Chapel L’Amour inside A Little White Wedding Chapel within a few hours after attending the Billboard Music Awards 2019 where the Jonas Brothers performed together as a band after a full decade.

Diplo was the first person to break the news of their seemingly impromptu wedding ceremony by sharing clips of the duo entering the chapel via Instagram. His story featured videos of the couple together at the aisle. Singer Khalid was also seen in the crowd. Dan + Shay performed an acoustic version of their track ‘Speechless’.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had been dating since November 2016 and then got engaged in October of 2017. In a recent interview for ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, Joe had revealed that the couple had decided on a wedding date.

“Well, we are going to get married this year,” he said, “We’re going to have a summer wedding, which I’m looking forward to. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

In another television appearance, he mentioned that the wedding was most likely going to be in France. He said, “I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary.”

Adding further, “We got most of it figured out already. There’s parts of it that I think just naturally are stressful, but you just have to allow yourself to enjoy the fact that you’re doing this. It’s not really about all the little minor details, it’s going to be great and things are going to go wrong, but I enjoy planning stuff.” It isn’t the first time this venue has seen a celebrity couple tie the knot. Previously, stars like Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, Michael Jordan, Britney Spears and Judy Garland have all been married there.
