City needs attention

Published on: May 10, 2019 9:36 PM

Sir: Recently Punjab Government approved two new districts in Punjab. First is Pirmahal in Toba Tek Singh and the second is Chishtian in Bahawalnagar. I would like to grab your attention towards Gujar Khan, the tehsil provided Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar, Sawar Muhammad Hussain Janjua, Amir Khan, Mohammad Amir and Najaf Shah to bring Pakistan in the first row of Respectable countries.

Gujar Khan is the tehsil with 36 Union Councils, 1466 km square land area and a population of 678,503.

The tehsil has only one MNA, two MPAs and one city mayor, so it is very problematic for a tehsil to govern such anenormous population and huge land area, as there are many issues related to pollution, Health and education. Gujar Khan has five major areas which are considerable to be tesils of Gujar Khan. Few days ago Mari Petroleum Company discovered new reserves of crude oil in Gujar Khan although a field of OGDCL is already working and producing 1600 barrels of crude oil daily, in this way Gujar Khan is playing an imperative historical and economical role in the progress of Pakistan.

Now political, social and business communities are on same page and showing their struggle for Gujar Khan and public of every stratum is standing with them to mark Gujar Khan a new District of Punjab. it is the right of Gujar Khan to be approved as District Gujar Khan, as it meets all the check lists and merits which are compulsory for a District. Punjab Government should take this issue seriously an approve Gujar Khan as a new District of Punjab for the betterment of public of Gujar Khan and Pakistan as well.
