India targets civilians after military losses, 5 martyred in unprovoked shelling at LoC

Published on: May 9, 2025 1:26 PM

Indian forces launched unprovoked shelling on civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC), killing five Pakistani civilians and injuring seven others. According to security sources, the attacks took place in Hajira, Forward Kahuta, and Khoi Ratta. Pakistan Army responded with precision strikes, silencing Indian artillery positions effectively.

Following the destruction of five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, India resorted to drone attacks. Over the past two days, Pakistan successfully shot down 35 Israeli-made Harop drones deployed by the Indian military. The swift interceptions demonstrate Pakistan’s advanced air defense readiness.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, stated that India has continued aggression for three consecutive days. He warned that India should not expect Pakistan to remain silent. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s right to defend its territory and citizens with full force.

Targeting civilians is a clear violation of international law. Pakistan has called on the global community to take urgent notice of India’s actions and pressure it to halt its military provocations. The international response will be crucial in preventing further escalation.

The Pakistan military has reaffirmed its commitment to national defense and readiness to respond to any misadventure. With tensions rising rapidly, the situation demands immediate international diplomatic efforts to restore peace in the region.
