268 Pakistani pilgrims return safely from Iraq via special flights

Published on: June 17, 2025 1:56 PM

ISLAMABAD – As part of ongoing repatriation efforts, 268 Pakistani pilgrims have returned safely from Iraq through special flights arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, two flights successfully landed in Karachi and Islamabad, bringing back the pilgrims who were in Iraq for religious purposes. The repatriation is part of a broader plan to ensure all Pakistanis return home safely amid regional unrest.

The ministry is actively working with Iraqi Airways and relevant Iraqi authorities to facilitate the return of the remaining pilgrims. Efforts are being made to ensure the process remains smooth, timely, and well-coordinated.

In addition, the spokesperson urged all remaining pilgrims in Iraq to stay prepared for travel on short notice. As flights are scheduled quickly, timely communication and readiness are crucial.

Moreover, the Foreign Office confirmed that all possible steps are being taken to support and assist Pakistani nationals abroad. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and are focused on ensuring an organized and safe return for all.

These special flights highlight Pakistan’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens, especially during times of uncertainty. The government continues to prioritize the safety and dignity of every returning pilgrim.
