A total of 1,200 Pakistani citizens, including pilgrims, traders, and students, have safely returned from Iran through the Taftan border due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. On Tuesday alone, 78 more individuals, including 47 students, were repatriated, bringing the total number to 1,200.
According to Express News, 987 people were brought back over the past two days via 37 buses. Most of them were stranded in Iran due to escalating regional tensions. Officials confirmed that the returning citizens were provided with all essential services at Pakistan House in Taftan.
Levies sources stated that the repatriation process is ongoing and well-organized, with more Pakistanis expected to arrive in the coming days. Authorities at the border assured that the necessary arrangements are in place to support the arriving individuals.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) successfully coordinated with Iraqi Airways to bring back 268 Pakistani nationals from Iraq on Monday. Two special flights arrived safely in Karachi and Islamabad from Basra, ensuring timely return of stranded zaireen.
The foreign ministry is actively working with Iraqi authorities and airlines to assist the remaining Pakistani pilgrims. MoFA has advised all zaireen to stay connected with the Pakistan Embassy in Baghdad and their designated travel representatives for updates.
Additionally, Iraqi Airways is operating daily flights from Basra to Dubai. Pakistani nationals are encouraged to use this route and should contact the nearest Iraqi Airways office for bookings. MoFA emphasized that travelers should be ready for immediate departures as repatriation efforts continue.
