According to official correspondence, the Punjab Home Department sent a request to the federal interior ministry after recommendations from police authorities highlighted the need for additional security support during sensitive religious events.

Meanwhile, the province has asked for a total of 137 companies of Army and Rangers personnel, including 61 Army companies and 76 Rangers companies, to be deployed across 39 districts.

Furthermore, authorities said the deployment will take place from the first to the eleventh of Muharram depending on local security needs, with forces assisting police during processions and major gatherings.
