KARACHI – The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has introduced an online system for registering and licensing clinics and private hospitals across Sindh. This new digital platform aims to make the registration process easier and faster for healthcare providers.
SHCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS) under the World Bank-funded CLICK project. This partnership has fully digitized the registration and licensing process, moving it away from the manual system.
Dr. Khalid Hussain Sheikh, Chairman of SHCC, told The Express Tribune that this digital move will simplify the registration of healthcare institutions. He praised the cooperation between the CLICK project team and the healthcare commission for bringing these services online.
SHCC CEO Dr. Ahsan Qavi Siddiqui explained that the Board of Commissioners has tasked the commission with automating the registration of doctors and hospitals. He also mentioned that a larger digital transformation of Sindh’s healthcare system using an ERP system is 80 percent complete.
Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, member of the SHCC Board of Commissioners, said the main goal is to make registration easier for hospitals and clinics while protecting the rights of healthcare providers and patients. This initiative is expected to improve healthcare management and service delivery across the province.
With this step, Sindh joins other regions embracing digital services to enhance transparency and efficiency in healthcare administration. Patients and healthcare providers will benefit from a smoother and more reliable registration process.
