Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday launched the Punjab Health Connect Programme, an initiative aimed at improving healthcare services in the province by engaging leading overseas Pakistani and foreign specialist doctors and surgeons to provide free treatment and professional training in government hospitals.
Launched on the directions of the chief minister, the programme seeks to strengthen Punjab’s public healthcare system through international medical collaboration by bringing globally experienced healthcare professionals to serve patients in public hospitals.
Under the initiative, renowned specialists and surgeons from abroad will provide free specialised medical treatment while also training local doctors, surgeons and other healthcare professionals in advanced medical techniques and modern clinical practices to enhance the capacity of the provincial health sector.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said providing healthcare facilities of international standards in government hospitals was a firm commitment of her government. She said the provincial healthcare system was being transformed in line with global standards to ensure better medical services for the people.
The CM said the Punjab Health Connect Programme would help overcome the shortage of specialist doctors in government hospitals by bringing international expertise and experience to the province while improving the quality of patient care and strengthening the skills of local medical professionals.
