Pakistan urges global action against Israel, reaffirms stance on Kashmir and regional peace

Published on: June 30, 2025 12:39 PM

ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has urged the international community to take immediate action against Israel’s deadly campaign in Gaza. He condemned what he called Israel’s genocidal actions against Palestinians and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for a two-state solution to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East.

Speaking at the 52nd Foundation Day of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), Dar called Israeli brutality “unprecedented” and stressed that peace in the region is impossible without justice for Palestinians. He also welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Iran’s right to self-defense and dialogue on nuclear issues.

Turning to regional matters, Dar accused India of using the Pulwama attack as a false flag operation and warned that any violations of the Indus Waters Treaty would be treated as acts of war. He stated that Pakistan would never allow India to use water as a weapon against its 240 million citizens and called for peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect.

Dar also emphasized that Kashmir remains an internationally recognized dispute. He insisted that its resolution must align with UN Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people, stressing that sustainable regional peace depends on resolving this longstanding issue.

On Afghanistan, Dar urged the Kabul government to prevent its territory from being used for terrorism. He said Pakistan is committed to peaceful relations with Afghanistan and supports regional cooperation to maintain security and stability.

He concluded by praising ISSI for its role in policy and diplomacy and highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s growing ties with China. Dar said that boosting trade and attracting foreign investment remains a top priority for the government as it navigates global and regional changes.
