Israeli strikes kill 15 in Gaza, including aid seekers

Published on: August 1, 2025 6:37 PM

Israeli airstrikes continued across Gaza on Friday, killing at least 15 Palestinians, including two people waiting for aid. Over 70 others were injured in the attacks, which have added to the growing humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave. The violence has shown no signs of slowing, as residents struggle to find food and safety.

Amid severe food shortages, three more Palestinians, including two children, died of hunger, bringing the total death toll from starvation to alarming levels. Aid groups say basic supplies are running out. Many families have gone days without proper food or medical support.

Meanwhile, France announced it would send 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza. International human rights groups are calling the situation dire. In a recent report, Human Rights Watch accused Israeli forces of committing war crimes, saying aid seekers are being deliberately targeted near relief centers.

The report stated that Israel is turning aid distribution points into death zones, using hunger as a weapon of war. The director of Human Rights Watch said Israel is intentionally starving Palestinians and attacking those in search of food, while also obstructing the delivery of life-saving supplies.

At the same time, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has demanded international media access to Gaza. It warned that the lack of coverage helps spread misinformation. Meanwhile, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, alongside Ambassador Mike Huckabee, visited aid centers jointly operated by the U.S. and Israel. They will brief President Trump on the ground situation.
