KP raises minimum wage to Rs40,000, boosts worker benefits

Published on: September 10, 2025 5:53 PM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially fixed the minimum wage at Rs40,000 for workers in all industrial and economic zones. The new wage policy aims to improve the livelihoods of laborers throughout the province.

The minimum daily wage is set at Rs1,538.46, and its implementation began on July 1, 2025. Employers are now prohibited from hiring any worker at wages below this threshold. This move ensures fair pay for all workers, promoting better income standards.

Besides the fixed salary, workers will receive additional benefits. These include house rent allowance, pension plans, medical facilities, bonuses, and insurance coverage. The government emphasizes comprehensive welfare alongside fair wages to uplift workers’ quality of life.

Importantly, the new minimum wage applies equally to women and transgender workers. This inclusion marks a significant step towards equality in the workplace. The KP government aims to foster an inclusive work environment with equal rights and protections.

Overall, KP’s wage reform promises a better standard of living for thousands of industrial workers. It reflects the government’s commitment to labor rights and social welfare across the province’s growing industrial sectors.
