CM Maryam Nawaz visits flood victims in Liaquatpur

Published on: September 12, 2025 9:07 PM

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Liaquatpur on Friday to meet flood victims and review ongoing relief efforts. She arrived via helicopter at Gul Muhammad Langah, where district officials and a local MPA received her at the helipad. The visit is part of her broader tour of flood-affected areas in southern Punjab.

At the flood relief camp, Maryam Nawaz interacted directly with displaced families. She inquired about their needs and the condition of basic facilities. Officials briefed her about the current challenges and the government’s immediate response to assist victims.

The chief minister assured the victims that the government was fully committed to their rehabilitation. She emphasized the importance of timely aid and ordered that medical, food, and shelter facilities be improved where needed. Her administration also vowed to prevent future flood damage through better infrastructure planning.

During the visit, local rescue teams and administrative officers updated her on relief operations. They shared reports on evacuations, food distribution, and health services in the area. Maryam expressed satisfaction but stressed faster implementation of pending tasks.

Maryam Nawaz will also visit other affected areas in Rahim Yar Khan. Her visit signals a high-level commitment to addressing the crisis, boosting morale among residents and relief workers alike.
