The Government of Sindh has taken a ground-breaking step towards transforming education by introducing the concept of a Digital Union Council through the Sindh Education Foundation.

Pursuing the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and the unwavering commitment of the Honorable Minister for Education & Literacy, Sindh, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) under the leadership of its Managing Director, Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, has announced plans to establish a model digital union council in Karachi in collaboration with Teach the World Foundation (TTWF). For this initiative, Micro-schools will be established to provide quality learning opportunities for out-of-school children, setting a benchmark for innovation and inclusivity in the education sector.

Speaking during a joint session of SEF and TTWF held at the Teach the World Foundation (TTWF) office, the Managing Director SEF, Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, shared that 125 micro-schools have already been established in rural and suburban areas across Sindh under the Accelerated Digital Learning Program. The primary objective of this initiative is to lay a strong foundation for addressing the education crisis in the province by bringing out-of-school children back into formal education settings.

Highlighting the success of the model in terms of timely completion of phase-I, improved learning gains of children, social and community development and mobilization, the Managing Director SEF, further announced that the Chief Minister of Sindh has approved the establishment of 200 additional micro-schools to expand the program. By leveraging digital learning, the project is offering one of the most effective and sustainable solutions to the education challenges in Sindh.
