Israel plans to sink Gaza aid ships, faces outcry

Published on: October 1, 2025 3:21 PM

Israel is planning to sink some ships of the Global Solidarity Flotilla in the sea, a broadcast revealed. The flotilla carries aid to Gaza and is moving towards its destination. As it entered a high-risk zone, Israeli naval forces surrounded two main ships and jammed their communication devices. This move aims to stop the flotilla from delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

According to Israeli media, the plan includes sinking certain ships to halt the mission. The flotilla’s efforts have faced severe challenges from Israel’s military. Meanwhile, the Italian ship in the flotilla decided to pull back from the mission. This decision has raised serious concerns and triggered a global response.

The United Nations’ Special Representative for Palestine, Francesca Albanese, condemned the Italian ship’s withdrawal. She said it opens the door for Israel to continue its violent actions unchecked. Albanese warned that this could lead to more atrocities and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Her reaction highlights growing international alarm over the situation.

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro also spoke out against any attack on the flotilla. He called such an attack a clear violation of international law and a crime against humanity. Petro’s statement adds pressure on Israel and urges respect for peaceful humanitarian missions. The international community watches closely as tensions rise.
