Trump Urges Israel to Stop Bombing Gaza as Hamas Considers Peace Plan

Published on: October 4, 2025 6:42 AM

Former US President Donald Trump called on Israel to stop bombing Gaza after Hamas conditionally agreed to his peace proposal. He urged both sides to seize the chance for peace as the war nears its two-year mark. Hamas said it accepts parts of Trump’s plan, including releasing hostages, but requested negotiations on issues like disarmament and withdrawal.

The proposal, backed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, includes a ceasefire, hostage release, Hamas disarmament, and a phased Israeli withdrawal. Hamas, however, rejected disarmament and demanded a full withdrawal. Trump posted Hamas’s response on Truth Social, warning that failure to agree would unleash “all hell” on the group.

Hamas said it appreciated international and Arab efforts supporting peace in Gaza. It also expressed readiness to transfer Gaza’s administration to a neutral Palestinian body of independents backed by Arab and Islamic nations. But divisions remain within Hamas leadership, with some members favoring unconditional approval and others insisting on changes.

Meanwhile, Gaza continued to face heavy Israeli bombardment. Local civil defense reported 11 deaths on Friday, while aid groups described catastrophic conditions. The UN and Amnesty International warned that so-called “safe zones” in southern Gaza were becoming overcrowded and dangerous, with shortages of food, water, and medical care.

As global protests intensify and pressure builds, the Trump Gaza peace plan remains a potential turning point. Hamas continues consultations, while Trump insists this is the group’s last chance for peace. The outcome could decide whether Gaza sees relief or further devastation.
