COAS Asim Munir Warns Afghan Taliban to Act Against Proxies Targeting Pakistan

ABBOTTABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday called on the Afghan Taliban government to act against militant groups operating from Afghan soil and launching attacks inside Pakistan.

Speaking at the passing-out parade of cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, the Army Chief said, “Every proxy war by our neighbours will be razed to dust.”

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to national defence, stating, “We will not lose an inch of our sacred land.”

Field Marshal Munir also accused India of politicising terrorism for its own interests and warned that any act of aggression would receive a strong and “befitting response.”

The parade marked the graduation of cadets from the 152nd PMA Long Course, 71st Integrated Course, 26th Lady Cadet Course, and 37th Technical Graduate Course.

Cadets from friendly countries including Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Mali, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Bangladesh, and Nigeria also graduated.

Field Marshal Munir reviewed the parade and distributed awards to top cadets.

  • President’s Gold Medal: Battalion Senior Under Officer Zohair Hussain

  • CJCSC Overseas Gold Medal: Junior Under Officer Tekraj (Friendly Country Company)

  • COAS Marksman Medal: Gentleman Cadet Syed Hashir Hassan

  • COAS Cane: Course Under Officer Shaheer Ali

  • Commandant’s Overseas Medal: Course Sports Sergeant Most Jannatul Mawa

  • Commandant’s Cane: Course Under Officer Sayed Abdul Hadi & Course Under Officer Hadia Fayyaz

The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, foreign diplomats, and families of the graduating cadets.
