FBR holds tax awareness session at HITEC University

As part of its ongoing Tax Awareness Outreach Activities, the Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) conducted an informative session on Income Tax Return Filing for Tax Year 2025 at HITEC University, Taxila. The initiative was undertaken under the directions of the Chairman FBR Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing Ms. Tehmina Aamer, to enhance tax literacy and promote voluntary tax compliance among the youth.

The FBR team comprised Secretary Compliance Ms. Kiran Zahra and other officials from the Taxpayers’ Services Wing.

The session was hosted by President Mr Usman Shaukat and organized under the supervision of Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Kamran Afaq. Faculty members and a large number of students attended the event.

In her opening remarks, Secretary Compliance provided an overview of the functions and initiatives of FBR. This was followed by a detailed presentation by Audit Officer Mr. Abdul Rehman, who guided the participants through the online filing process of income tax returns and addressed common challenges faced by taxpayers.

The session witnessed keen participation from students and faculty, who raised insightful questions regarding various tax matters. The queries were responded to comprehensively by the FBR team.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Kamran Afaq appreciated the FBR’s efforts to strengthen public trust and foster a culture of tax compliance through educational engagement. He also commended the TPS Wing for its proactive approach in reaching out to academic institutions.

The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs between the representatives of FBR and HITEC University.
