ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted a three-day deadline to the police for the recovery of National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Deputy Director Muhammad Usman, who was allegedly abducted from the capital under mysterious circumstances.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan expressed serious concern over the law enforcement authorities’ failure to trace the missing official, warning that if he is not recovered within the set timeframe, both the NCCIA Director and the Inspector General (IG) Islamabad would be summoned to appear before the court in person.

The petition seeking Usman’s recovery was filed by his wife, Rozina Usman, through her counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi. However, during proceedings, Abbasi informed the court that Rozina herself has now gone missing after allegedly receiving threats to withdraw the petition. Her phone has been switched off since her last communication, the lawyer told the court.
Abbasi further stated that Muhammad Usman had been working on several sensitive cases before his abduction, which reportedly occurred when he was taken away in a white Toyota Corolla bearing a fake number plate, as seen in CCTV footage.

Police representatives told the court that efforts were ongoing and expressed hope that the missing officer would be recovered soon. They requested a seven-day extension, but the court allowed only three days, instructing authorities to act immediately.
Justice Azam Khan remarked that the use of a suspicious vehicle within the capital raised serious concerns about security and surveillance failures. He directed officials to trace the calls used to pressure Rozina Usman through Call Detail Records (CDRs) and emphasized that the case would not be taken lightly. The Assistant Attorney General confirmed that an FIR had been registered and requested additional time for investigation. The court adjourned the hearing until later this week.
