MUMBAI – Rain and a wet outfield delayed the toss for the highly anticipated Women’s World Cup final between India and South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday.
The toss, originally scheduled for 2:30 pm, was pushed back by 30 minutes to 3:00 pm (0930 GMT), with the start time revised to 3:30 pm. However, intermittent drizzle continued to threaten further delays.

Both sides are vying for their maiden 50-over World Cup title, with a packed crowd expected at the 45,000-capacity venue. India, who were runners-up in 2005 and 2017, entered their third final after defeating defending champions Australia in a thrilling semi-final encounter.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s women are playing their first-ever ODI World Cup final after overcoming four-time champions England in a closely contested match.
