Punjab Assembly to take up key amendment bills in 34th session today

Agenda for first sitting of 34th Punjab Assembly session issued
LAHORE – The first sitting of the 34th Punjab Assembly session is set to begin today (Monday) at 2:00 PM under the chairmanship of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan at the Punjab Assembly building, according to the issued agenda.

As per the agenda, the School and Higher Education Department will address questions raised by assembly members. Lawmakers will also present calling attention notices, debate five pending adjournment motions, and introduce two new ordinances during the proceedings.

Several significant legislative items are scheduled for discussion and approval, including the Drugs Amendment Bill, 2025, the Punjab Finance (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Punjab Enforcement and Regulations (Amendment) Bill, and the Punjab Locum Hiring Bill, 2025.

Additionally, the Punjab Control of Narcotic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2025 will be tabled for approval. The session will also take up other key issues raised by members concerning provincial governance and policy matters.
