Published on: November 13, 2025 3:42 PM

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, has assured full security to the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Thursday. The assurance came after Sri Lankan officials raised concerns following recent security incidents in Islamabad. Naqvi said the matter was personally discussed with Sri Lankan leaders.

Naqvi added that the Sri Lankan President directly contacted Pakistani authorities, and both sides reviewed security arrangements in detail. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the visiting team’s safety concerns had been addressed comprehensively by Pakistan’s leadership, including the army chief.
