Police officials said the armored vehicle was on routine patrol when the remote-controlled device detonated. The driver and a constable lost their lives in the attack, highlighting continued risks faced by law enforcement in the region.

Meanwhile, federal authorities condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of the slain officers. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the bravery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
